Importing Backup

Importing Backup

#48Bug

I seem to have made a mistake. I imported an OPML document from a mindmap app. Some of its nodes had the same name as some nodes in Kosshi and they replaced those older (more text rich) nodes. Not a problem. I had a backup of Kosshi from a few days ago. I opened the BU file.

With the BU file in the forefront I chose (at different times) both to Restore and Import as Node. As far as I can tell neither approach worked ... i.e. I didn't see anything extra imported/replaced in the main Kosshi file. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you, as always, for taking the time to report this. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and I really appreciate your thoughtful messages.

I investigated this on my side as well. It seems that a change to window focus handling made when Split View was implemented in version 1.18.0 caused backup importing to stop working. I’m sorry my testing did not catch this.

I’ll fix this as soon as possible and include the fix in an update.

If you need a workaround in the meantime, open the backup preview, select the node you want to recover, and press Command-C to copy it. Then switch to the main Kosshi window and press Command-V to paste it. If this is urgent, please give this workaround a try.

Ah, got it! I did try to do what you suggested and it definitely worked. But I am also be happy to check out the proper fix once you have it in place. No hurry though.
