How this forum works
Posting
Use New topic in the header to start a topic. Posts support Markdown (use Write / Preview). Use the reply arrow to write a comment linked to that post without duplicating its text; select text first when you want the link to identify a specific part. The posted comment shows a small reply target that jumps back to the original post. The post menu also has Quote post for a real Markdown quote; when text is selected, only that text is quoted, otherwise the full post is quoted. Mention someone with @username when you want an email notification. Hover an account name for a short profile card. New comments move a topic up on the home list; editing alone does not. You can edit your own posts later (pencil icon).
Your profile
In Profile settings you can set a display name, photo, and a one-line About.
