Kosshi 1.17
Kosshi 1.17
#40Release@macosxguru
There is no strict rule, but this is how I see the difference.
Prose is the content itself. It keeps the outline structure, but hides the bullets so the rows read more like normal writing. A note is extra information attached to a row, so it is shown in smaller, less prominent text.
I use notes for tags, dates, URLs, references, and source text that I want to keep while building an outline. As mentioned above, dated @tags in notes have a known issue in this version.
Kosshi’s notes follow the same general row-note pattern as OmniOutliner, Workflowy, and other outliners.
The new search, and especially SAVED searches, are great additions! Many thanks.
However, it seems Saved Searches are behaving not as expected. Specifically, if I save a search on my iPhone then it shows up on my Mac almost right away. However, searches created on my Mac (even after 12+ hours) do not show up on my iPhone.
I have not thoroughly tested yet with my iPad but after a few minutes searches from my iPhone DO show up on my iPad, but ones from my Mac also do not make it over to the iPad.
Don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. Sync via iCloud is activated for all 3 devices.
@mitchellm
Thanks for the detailed report. This sounds like a bug, but saved searches are syncing correctly in my environment. I have not been able to find the cause yet.
Is this still happening? Also, are other changes made on your Mac syncing to your iPhone and iPad?
... Okay a quick update. As a lark I went in and changed the names of 2 saved searches on the Mac. When I changed the name then the search DID SHOW UP on my 2 iOS devices! Not sure why that did the trick ... but it did!
Thank you for the detailed report and the follow-up. Based on what you described, I think I found the cause.
If a saved search was created or changed while devices were running different versions of Kosshi, the change might not appear on a device running the older version, even after that device was updated.
I have changed the CloudKit configuration. CloudKit is Apple’s backend service that Kosshi uses for syncing. I believe the issue should now be resolved.
If anyone is still experiencing this issue, please let me know.
Some issues with notes and quotes:
- Layout / cursor position issue when creating a quote with > inside a note
- On initial insert of > there’s quote styling, but when pressing <space> it disappears, this is different from outline items when the quote styling is not rendered until after pressing <space>
- On subsequent editing a note that is a quote the quote styling and > is hidden
- Adding a note to an outline item that is a quote extends the quote styling from the outline item to the note
Kosshi 1.17 is out.
