A small capture window that appends to it right away would reduce a lot of friction.

I came across a feature which intrigued me in another program. The program has to be running. In any other program, you press ⇧⌘7, and out pops a little window where you can type anything you want. Hit enter and it gets filed into a section called Bucket in the parent application. It is a nice way to reduce the friction inherent in adding little thoughts which occur to you while you are doing something and it gets added to the Bucket. That would be a great feature in Kosshi. You can choose to have a dedicated node designated for this kind of random thought and you can add to it through this kind of an interaction.
